Arren Williams is the name, and I'm a stylist, editor and trend reporter. You'll catch my work regularly popping up in print in the likes of the National Post, House & Home and elsewhere. I'm also a guest expert on Citytv's CityLine, and you can occasionally find me on HGTV as well as on ABC 7 News in Chicago.

To keep things fun I've tapped a couple of friends - Julia Black and Jenn Hannotte - to contribute their views on design too. Enjoy!

When modern meets antique

I came across these shots while noodling through files on my laptop and realised they'd never seen the light of day. Originally shot (by the wonderful Donna Griffith) for a kitchen makeover for Style at Home magazine, they unfortunately didn't make it into the final layout. I love the mix of antique and fleamarket finds set against a Bev Hisey die-cut wall hanging, but it's the porcelain figurines and lamp base - treasures handed down to Bev by her mum - that really make the shots.

Our Old Place

I thought it would be fun to share a few shots of the house which we'll be leaving soon, featured in the Feb /08 issue of Canadian House & Home Magazine, and shot by the sweet and stylish Angus Fergusson. We really love the place, it was/is a great first home, but it's time to move on...

Up Next

Monday brings the early morning craziness that is CityLine. I say craziness because there is nothing like setting up for a live tv show in 45 minutes! Kimberly Seldon is guest hosting which should be fun; I'll be covering a few super-cool electronic items as well as showing a fab 'before and after' weekend project.

The House Project

This is our latest huge project; a new house. The space has great bones but is in major need of tlc inside and out. I know I said we were after a 60's bungalow (perhaps announcing that on national television wasn't the best idea, but thanks for all the suggestions, lol) but this totally fits our needs, is more central than the other great neighbourhoods we were looking in and just feels - well - right.

And, we're off!

Well, after quite a lot of 'can we try this there' and 'what about that bit,' and a fair bit of knitted brows on both our parts, David has the blog up and running and looking great! It's a total work in progress, and will be constantly evolving. Cool? I think so...
