PROJECT LYNNVALLEY
Arren was the designer on the main floor renovation of this suburban home outside of Toronto. The interior hadn’t been touched in 20+ years, and needed to reflect the homeowner’s well-travelled sense of style. The interior was published in Style at Home magazine’s April/May 2023 issue, and was also seen on Citytv’s Cityline.

Kitchen - After falling in love with the Rice by Marazzi tile collection at Ciot, we knew we’d found the perfect colour palette of a soft neutral and blue. The only design request was no white cabinets, which was fulfilled by pulling the colours from the tiles and amping them up slightly, giving the main body of the kitchen a softer vibe in Benjamin Moore’s Thinder, and the island its moment to shine in Van Deusen Blue.
Countertops had to durable and easy to clean, so the porcelain Sapienstone 4D Arabescato from Ciot fullfilled the brief, and worked perfectly with our colour palette. Above the island the ceramic Cally pendant from Regina Andrew sing back to the floral motif of the tiles. Above the sink we reference the homeowner’s British heritage in Morris & Co’s Trent linen in Woad Blue found at Primavera. To the right of the sink you’ll find the standout Barista Touch Impress espresso machine in Sea Salt from Breville, alongside a painterly landscape in oils, plus a vintage plate and sconce sourced at The Door Store.
Underfoot, we kept the look chic and simple with soft grey tiles from Ciot, and softened things up with a Morros & Co runner from Ruggable.
Sink and faucet, Kohler. Major appliances, Thermador. Casa Cubista ceramics, Saudade.
Dining - dining table, Article, dining chairs, Classic Home, pendant light, Visual Comfort.
Living Room - The living room was given life, colour and a design direction with a boldly patterned wool rug sourced from Etsy. From there, seating was maximized with a spacious sectional from Maison Corbeil, pepped up with a mix of velvet pillows in plains and patterns from West Elm and Ikea. The coffee table is a layered affair from BluDot, in two heights easy to move as needed, with the addition of extra seating in a leather ottoman from Statum. Wall panelling was added to give the space an extra level of sophistication.
Dining Room - For this spacem a large armoirse was moved from the kitchen and painted black, while for the floor our British theme continues with the Morris & Co Blackthorn Rug from Ruggable. Rather than stay traditional with the furniture choice, we went sleek and modern with the Elbow chair from Rove Concepts and the oval Ooid dining table scored at Must. More florals in the Jupiter capiz shell pendant found on Wayfair and a sense of place provided by a moody landscape found at Juniper Print Co. Beneath the main window a desk from CB2 doubles as a bar and server, while opposite an antiqued French Provincial chest is given presence topped with a large arched mirror, and flanked with the homeowner’s original dining chairs painted black.
Powder Room - Here we took a small space and made it a major moment with eyepoppingly bold Clarke & Clarke Waterlily wallpaper, sourced at Kravet. On the floor, things are balanced out with an equally bold marble mosaic from Ciot, and given room to breathe with the addition of panelling painted in black. The console sink and sconce were a Wayfair score, the faucet is from Kohler and the mirror was found at Renwil.
